Sometimes being a Mother means you have to get used to let
Your infants that used to cling on to you through the days, emerge as toddlers and begin pushing away from you to enter the world. Ouch.
Your pre-schoolers who used to love hearing you to read them and showed you their toys, now walk into Kindy for the first time and wave goodbye excitedly and reluctantly, you let them go.
Your school children who always had so much to tell you walk into teen years and banish you from their room. They now have their own secret place now as their lives become their own. You step back and they enlarge to fill that space with a world that is sparkling and brand new
It’s ironic that the ones who hung onto you so fiercely, so closely; are the same ones who are moving away, searching for their own identity. When we you reach this point just remember that you haven’t stopped being an amazing parent that you always were, you have simply graduated into lifelong friend. Because at the end of their days, there is no one like Mum or Dad, to pick up the pieces and make everything great.
